Hey, I’m Kai!
I’m a Seattle-based Product Designer currently finishing my degree in Visual Communication Design at the University of Washington. With my graduation coming up in June 2026, I will be available for full-time opportunities starting this summer!
As a product designer, I thrive in collaborative environments where I can create work that sparks genuine joy. A balance I try to keep with my work is accessibility and fun because if my audience is unable to effectively interact with my design, it often loses its intended value.
My name, Kai, means 'the sea' in Hawaiian. My namesake is something I try to embody in my daily work. Like the ocean, I consider myself to be calm, patient, and easygoing, flowing naturally into leadership roles while remaining flexible enough to handle any changes in the tides.
I love to make playlists!
When I’m not designing, my favorite way to curate a mood or aesthetic is through music. In fact, I enjoy making playlists even more than I enjoy mood boarding! There's something about combining audio and visual mediums that make for a really enjoyable creative exercise outside of design.
